About Fredrik

An operating CTO, end to end.

I work across the full connected-product system—from electronics and firmware to cloud, mobile, industrialization, support and the engineering organization that brings it together.

Built from the physical layer up.

I am co-founder and CTO at Fell Technology, a role I have held since 2013. My responsibility has crossed hardware, electronics, firmware, cloud, mobile applications, DevOps, industrialization, certification, support and ongoing operation of connected products.

I have led more than 80 internal and external engineers through technical leads and distributed teams, and worked across global connected-product and OEM delivery. My earlier work as an embedded systems engineer at Texas Instruments Norway continues to shape how I think: abstractions matter, but real systems are ultimately constrained by physics, interfaces and operating conditions.

Technical depth should improve decisions.

The CTO role is not a choice between executive leadership and technical credibility. The job is to connect the two: make the system legible, expose consequential trade-offs, build strong technical leadership and keep the organization focused on what the product requires.

I prefer explicit interfaces, evidence over performance, and operating models that make good decisions easier. In applied AI, that means evaluation and human boundaries. In connected products, it means lifecycle ownership. In larger organizations, it means scaling judgment rather than centralizing approval.

Applied AI that can be operated.

My current focus is AI-enabled products and workflows where reliability, evidence, permissions and escalation matter. That includes AI-assisted engineering, AI-supported internal workflows and agentic support systems for complex connected products.

I am also interested in the organizational questions that arrive with these systems: how to evaluate them against real work, where humans should remain in the loop, and how technology leaders can introduce them without outsourcing judgment.
